Volunteer Grant Writer Needed
SWEAT Network is looking for a volunteer Grant Writer to help us maneuver the grant writing process as we apply for funding for our organization. The Grant Writer will create coherent, organized, and compelling proposals and apply knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach financial goals. You will collaborate and assist to build long-term sponsorship opportunities and relationships with a focus on key stakeholders.
**There is the potential of making this a paid position once supportive funding is in place.**
To ensure success, you need to write well, have proficient knowledge of fundraising methods, and be committed to the SWEAT mission. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players with the ability to prioritize.
Responsibilities
§ Develop relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders
§ Support the organization's mission, maintain knowledge of programs and goals
§ Assist with strategy execution
§ Identify grant-funding opportunities
§ Write, submit, and manage grant proposals
§ Furnish prospective funders with appropriate documentation; manage reporting
Requirements
§ 2+ years of verifiable grant writing experience, paid or unpaid
§ Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals
§ Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel
§ Knowledge of fundraising information sources
§ Verbal and written communication skills; strong people skills
§ Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
§ Ability to meet deadlines
§ Must be dependable
Time Commitment
§ Weekly Zoom planning meeting, 1 hour
§ Writing and research, approximately 4-5 hours per week
Training & Supervision
§ Attend (virtual) orientation
§ Ongoing guidance provided, as needs arise or deadlines approach
